MEETING NOTICE

The Clatskanie City Council will meet for a regular meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. in the city council chambers.

Agenda items may include, but are not limited to, the following: Approval of the minutes of the October 6th regular meeting, second public hearing on a sewer rate increase effective Jan. 1, 2011, second reading on an ordinance regarding the FEMA National Flood Insurance program and a presentation from PGE on the Port Westward project.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The public is invited to attend a second public hearing Wednesday, Nov. 3, 7 p.m., at city hall, 95 S. Nehalem Street.

The purpose of this hearing is to obtain citizen views and respond to comments regarding sewer rate increases effective Jana. 1, 2011.

PROPOSED STREET VACATION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Clatskanie Planning Commission on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. in the city council chambers located at 95 S. Nehalem Street to consider the proposed vacation of a portion of SW 1st Street between BelAir Drive and Bryant Street. The area can be found on Columbia County Assessor Map 7408-CA.

The proposed vacation has been initiated by a petition dated October 18, 2010, from Carol Smith.

The public hearing will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the city hall council chambers, 95 S. Nehalem St., Clatskanie, Ore.

Citizens interested in the proposed vacation are encouraged to attend the public hearing and give testimony of their opinions, for or against, such proposed vacation. Written comments are welcome and must be received by 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15. Written testimony may be forwarded to Karyn Purdue, city recorder, PO Box 9, Clatskanie, OR, 97016.

A parcel of land located in the Northeast one-quarter of the Southwest one-quarter of Section 8 in Township 7 North, Range 4 West of the Willamette Meridian, in the City of Clatskanie, Columbia County, Ore.; said parcel of land being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the Southwesterly corner of the intersection of SW 1st Street and SW Bryant Street in the Subdivision of Bryant’s First Addition to Clatskanie;

Northwest Regional Education Service District
SCHOOL DISTRICTS SEEK TO IDENTIFY UNSERVED CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

The Northwest Regional Education Service District (NWRESD) and Columbia County local school districts seek assistance in locating children with disabilities (birth through age 21) who have not graduated from high school and currently are not attending nor receiving other special education services from public schools.

Oregon and federal law mandate appropriate educational services for children with disabilities. The NWRESD provides educational services for eligible children from birth to kindergarten. Local school districts provide educational programs and services for eligible children from kindergarten through high school. These services are provided as appropriate to each child’s needs and disability.

Parents, guardians or others who know of a child (age five through 21*) with a disability who is not currently receiving educational services are asked to notify the special education contact person in the child’s home district (see below).
