Luke Davis, a Clatskanie High School 1996 graduate and former Tiger baseball player, reports that he and four other CHS baseball alumni attended the Clatskanie game against Rancho Solano Prep played in Chandler, Ariz. on March 22.
Other Tiger alumni in attendance were: Ronnie Espindola ‘88, Jonathan Cooley ‘90, David Wallace ‘93, and Ira Jeffers ‘02, as well as former Clatskanie baseball coach Lester Wallace.
As reported in last week’s Chief, the Tigers won the game with Storm Engen leading with a three-run triple.
In the final game of their spring trip to Arizona, the Clatskanie Tigers baseball team was defeated by the reigning 3A Oregon state champions, Santiam Christian. The game was played in Phoenix, Ariz.
The Eagles won with a score of 12-1 in five innings. The Eagles were only able to get six hits but took advantage of Tiger errors and walks to tally 12 runs.
Blair Gressett made the only Tigers score in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-batted-in.
