Rainier School District

REGULAR BOARD MEETING NOTICE 

The Rainier School District board of directors is scheduled to meet on Monday, Feb. 11, in the board room at 28168 Old Rainier Road at 7 p.m.

The agenda items include, but are not limited to, staffing renewals, 2013/14 school calendar, and revisiting board policy JFCJ – weapons in the schools.

An executive session is scheduled under ORS 192.660 (2) (b), (d) and (f) following the open session and there may be a decision to follow.                      2-7-c

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, an election will be conducted by mail for the purpose of electing board members to the following districts (positions/zones and terms) as follows:

CLATSKANIE SCHOOL DISTRICT 6J

Positions 3, 4 and 5  (4-year terms) – Clatskanie 1-3,  North Clatskanie, South Clatskanie, Marshland, Quincy and portions of Clatsop County.

RAINIER SCHOOL DISTRICT 13

Candidates must live in and be nominated by zone; elected by entire district.

Zone 1 (4-year term) – North Delena and South Delena except SEC. 12, 13 & 24 that are south of Highway 30.

Each candidate for an office listed above must file a declaration of candidacy accompanied by a filing fee of $10 or a petition for nomination signed by at least 25 registered voters residing in the election district for the office, with the Elections Department of Columbia County beginning on Feb. 9, 2013 and no later than 5 p.m. on March 21, 2013.

The board of directors for Clatskanie School District 6J will hold a special board meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 7 p.m. at Clatskanie Middle/High School Room 107, located at 471 SW BelAir Drive.

The agenda will include but is not limited to: Declare emergency property loss – CES library, project bids, board/superintendent operating agreement, committee appointments and the process for selecting new superintendent.
