The Terrible Podcast – Talking Steelers cut to 80, Ealy signing, roster predictions, 22 review, chat, and more

Season 13, Episode 12 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the box. On this Wednesday show, which was taped late Tuesday night, Alex Kozora and I talk directly about the Pittsburgh Steelers roster cuts on Tuesday to bring the team back to 80 players. Obviously, we talk a lot about quarterback Chris Oladokun and outside linebacker Genard Avery being among those five players who were cut on Tuesday. We also discuss all of the likely reasons Avery was dumped and if there’s any chance he’ll return after the initial roster of 53 men is finally set.

The Steelers signed free agent contract Adrian Ealy a few days ago, so Alex and I are making sure to process that trade quickly on this show.

Alex and I have now released our latest predictions on the 53-man roster now that the team has played two pre-season games, so we go over our picks and some changes we’ve both had since our previous attempt. .

With the tape of 22 from Saturday night’s preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars now fully digested, Alex and I review our latest observations.

With the Steelers offensive line being a major concern after two preseason games, Alex and I discuss this position group in some depth. We review whether we believe the unit will make progress in the future and whether that progress will be sufficient. We’re also talking about the possibility of the Steelers adding at least one more offensive lineman who can potentially start or serve as a backup by Week 1 of the regular season.

We’re mixing in other Steelers talk throughout this episode that isn’t noted in this recap post.

Alex and I are closing this show by hitting the email machine for some listener questions as part of the wrap up for this Wednesday episode.
